It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
